I should be doing research for my bio class, but I've decided to write about this instead.
Wikileaks was nominated by Norwegian Stortinget parliamentarian Snorre Valen for contributing to world Democracy and freedom of speech and for redrawing the map of information freedom.
Really, this is all that I can find about it right now. Any thoughts from the new newly awakened AK Voice?
Wikileaks may have caused an uproar, but I'd say it's definitely a force for peace with all its revealed on the conduct of various nations in their ongoing wars and foreign relations. Nobel's will said "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses." The "person" part shouldn't be a problem, "fraternity between nations" might be, but I think Wikileaks is definitely working to reduce standing armies.
If Obama got one for doing nothing, WikiLeaks deserves one for doing a hell of a lot. Although essentially being the catalyst for a cyber war isn't exactly "peaceful" ;)
I leave you with a tweet from Ron Paul.. "Wikileaks- In a free society, we are supposed to know the truth. In a society where truth becomes treason, we are in big trouble."
