DubStep ERA

Alaska and Ketchikan

How rave-like shows are exploding in our current society? How ecstasy has become one of the most popular experimental drugs in America? The DUBSTEP era... it has begun. These huge pulses, of human expression all in one single crowded area, are these pulses of emotion through musical vibrations unusual? Well, to me it is an intense thought. Having been to night clubs and experienced the togetherness feeling with the music and the human life as one, I say it is natural. It is a celebration of human existence. For thousands of years, there have been many recorded rituals involving loud drum beats and chanting; sending those involved into a connection unexplainable in any other form. Is there anything so wrong as doing something so human? Something so raw, and as real as just moving your body to the sounds you hear- is it wrong? My real question is, to be quite honest, is why the hell does anyone care if it isn't hurting anyone? We are just finding different ways to peel off our outer layers and reveal our ever so raw and vulnerable human being selves.

Isn't that true for anything, though? Not just DubStep?
If marijuana becomes legalized there will likely be a giant reggae comeback and sudden mainstreaming of stoner rock bands among other substance-oriented music groups. Hollywood is attempting to cash out again I think...
I don't really understand the DubStep thing honestly. Trance, House, Drum & Bass, etc has been around for decades, all usually involving large raves and tons of ecstasy and other drugs, any drugs. It's especially been big in the UK.

What separates the sound/experience from Trance?
I'm all for rave and dancing in a huge crowd to some bad ass bumping techno, I can't get behind doing ecstasy thou, just a personal thing against man made rec. drugs, mostly man made drugs in general. There should be more dance like places.
