Alaska and Ketchikan

Today I mainly focussed on re-writing (for 9 hours) the entire post/edit/draft article/poll system. The code is all new, although it looks mostly the same (since the changes were all back-end). Let me explain a few differences though...

Drafts are now in their own database table, they were originally with the normal articles, which caused a lot of issues, especially with a confusion on why the article numbers were spaced so far apart sometimes.

When you make a draft, it will show up in your "My Profile" area. From there you can make any changes, including anything you want to the poll..

Once a draft is published, you will be able to ONLY change the question and expiration date on the poll, none of the options (yet?).

If you go into one of your articles or your My Profile section and click "Edit" on any published article, you will be brought to the /write/edit page, which allows you to make any change to the article, except for the poll options. You even have the option to remove your poll, but just note in the current version of the site you can't add another poll to an already published article.

If you are in the middle of editing your article, just click "Draft" and your new edit will appear in the My Drafts section on your profile. You will notice the word Edit: shows up before the draft title. This means you can continue editing your article right where you left off, without making any changes to the current one until you're done.

Hopefully I explained that all okay. I will later implement more options when it comes to poll editing, including the ability to change the poll options (although this will have to reset all the votes, so make your changes quick!)

A couple smaller changes... You can no longer resize the "article" or "comment" boxes. There is an error with jQuery UI 1.8 that isn't allowing them to work properly. However, if you're using Google Chrome you can go ahead and resize it with the built in feature :)

I killed bug #5 and 6 (thanks Anirath), which didn't show the Articles list or Search Results properly. He also requested that I make it so you can click on a user's name in the chat box and go to their profile, this is now in effect :)

I think that's all for now.. Onward!
