I am sure Catalyst already has an idea about this, but I was wondering whether the organization of the site for different parts of Alaska would be based on cities or regions or both or something else. And - just because I want to try poll making again - here is a poll for everyone's preferences, if you have any.

What do you think should organize the users of AKV?
This is the reason the feature doesn't even currently exist. I'm thinking cities would be kind of cool.. Giving everyone the opportunity to have their own little "Ketchikan Underground" like we got for so long.. But they could also post stuff on the All-of-alaska page... So there would be the Home tab, the My Location tab, and then maybe a custom one of whatever cities they want? oh there's an idea... But, when posting an article, there would be a little checkbox that asks "Would you like to post this to your area specifically?" perhaps? And a little event calendar for everyone, and locations only. It'll be a big task... but I'm down for brainstorming
Yeah I'd have to say cities are a must, but then I think there are also things that people would want to talk about within a region - like if someone was in Homer they could post in a Kenai Peninsula place for some nearby event instead of reposting for Seward and again for Soldotna etc. Or maybe they would just put that kind of thing on the All-of-Alaska page.
I'm not really familiar with how the regions of Alaska are worked out. I know all those smaller places are easily connected though, hmm.. maybe some sort of region feature can work out... wouldn't be too hard actually, we'd just have to match up what cities belong to what region
That sounds complicated for one person to maintain. It's an interesting idea, though. I don't think any regions interact in quite the same way that southeast Alaska does--it is like a city in itself. I don't know if other regions would have a bulk of "region specific" news that wouldn't be of interest to the rest of the state.
It would be helpful to have liasons in those other cities or regions.
