First of all, the CSS and javascript pages have changed a lot, everything might look funky until you push CTRL+F5 or your cache empties.
Hello again, busy day. Here's an overview of what's new (written completely off the top of my head)...
When typing in a username to the inbox it will search for a list of close names to help you find the right person. This is still a bit buggy, and obviously not too useful with so little members at the moment.
There's a new theme, Rose, it is the first theme to feature a content background that isn't white, it's a very light shade of red, a little nicer on the eyes than white.
Sleek, Mint, and Classic themes have all been darkened and adjusted slightly for better contrast. They also won't flash weird colors beforehand.
Note, the themes are still heavily experimental, and I doubt the site works at all in Internet Explorer. I'm not even paying attention to that POS browser until much later. Do what I can first with the real browsers, and then fix something that shouldn't be my problem later.. If at all, honestly might just tell the user to install the "Chrome Framework" like Google Wave does... Regardless...
The footer color disappeared in 0.9.0315, it's all back!
Bug tab removed and put over on the left side.
Fixed the blank "total online time" in profile for users on less than an hour
If a user has a validated e-mail address, and has enabled the feature, in their profile you can click a "Send E-mail" link which will open up a dialog and allow you to obviously, send an e-mail to the user. Your e-mail address is never revealed to the person.
PLEASE NOTE: my test server doesn't have e-mail capabilities, so I haven't even been able to test this yet.
The registration pages have been updated. It now checks the entire form via javascript before processing your information. This saves me a couple server calls, and the user a few page refreshes if they keep messing up.

Locations
Here is where I will make an attempt to explain the Locations feature, a big part of what will differ this site from Ketchikan Underground.
For those of you already with an account, I have set your location to Ketchikan, and all content made in the past has already been marked as Ketchikan content, but if I wasn't to do that, a user would either on registration or in their About Me section choose what location they want to belong to. Once you're in a location, a new tab will appear next to the "alaska" tab. Let's take note that this is no longer called the "home" tab. The articles tab is also gone. The only locations right now are Ketchikan, Juneau, and Anchorage. More can and will easily be added in the future.
When writing an article, it will ask you what location you would like to put the article in. It will also also have a checkbox with the option "Publish this article to the Alaska page." If you are already registered under a location, that will be the default option, but you can post it to any location you'd like.
If you post an article in a location, but don't allow it to be published to the Alaska tab, then that article (and any recent activity towards it) will only be shown in the tab that it was posted.
If you choose a location AND allow it to be on the alaska tab, it will appear on both! (i know this is all common sense, but the system is a little funky)
If you don't choose a location, it will appear only on the alaska tab.
Now, you will notice next to the "Category Filter" button there is a "Locations" button, this will list all the current locations to allow anyone to browse through.
When reading an article, under the "posted by" data it will tell you what location the article belongs to. (Alaska, City, or Alaska and City)
In a user's profile it will show their location, if you click on this you can view everyone else in that location.
When you are on a location page instead of the Alaska page, the recent activity panel will only show recent activity for that location. If a user put in their location during registration (let's say Ketchikan..) then their registration activity will be shown on the alaska and ketchikan pages, but not under other locations.
Last thing to note: Once the site is released, http://ketchikanunderground.net will be directed to http://akvoice.com/ketchikan
Another good thing to note is that I never really knew/noticed that akvoice.org is taken and has been in use for something like ten years... This could be a potential problem in the future...

Obviously everything new and old is subject to change. What do you think?
