Interpret "threat to the United States" however you will - threat to the federal government, to Americans, to our way of life; long-run, short-run, today, whatever - but the key is it has to be some government. I have put up some candidates, along with catch-all options that you should comment on if you vote for them.
Do you feel threatened? Is this incredibly random? Am I hoping to generate interesting but not very heated conversation? Did I think AKV really needed a new article? (The answer to the last two is yes.)

Which is the biggest governmental threat to the United States?
Other than some huge terror attack, it's our own government, doing much more than it needs to.
I live near the fringe of the hellhole that's the DC-Baltimore metro. Hellhole. Can't emphasize that enough, especially towards the DC end. While our state's busy bending over backwards to help the elite DC suburbs as much as they can, the rest of the state's been left to rot. The city of Baltimore is broke. The new budget has half the pools, parks, and community centers closing. As if the city didn't already have problems with kids doing shit in the streets before.
Our county, away from the big city gets absoute dick from the federal and state government, letting roads become outrageously overcrowded. I sit in bumper to bumper traffic on a two-lane road for fifteen minutes to and from school every day. Schools are beyond overcrowded, the police and fire departments are stretched, and public transportation is nonexistant. Our once beautiful agricultural and wooded landscape is filled with botched housing developments built by bloated companies that basically hold the local government hostage, while the state lets it all play out up away from their problems. Taxes are through the roof, but go towards meaningless vanity highway projects downstate, while the rest is bungled away by worthless politicians surviving on name and ego year after year.
People are getting pissed. I'm getting pissed. If this keeps up, I'm out of here. Tired of all the BS, and seeing what I used to love and recognize getting stomped and defecated on. I feel threatened and betrayed by the blind eye of government.
No, but we basically share our land with them, everything east of the Potomac. DC proper is its own District, but it's small compared to all the suburbs that are in the state.
The US may or may not refer to the government, sure, but as an answer in the poll I was clearly referring to the government. If you think about it though, we are united "states," so unless we're just called "America," the very name of our country implies government, unlike most other places.
Are you saying the people of our nation are not responsible for our leader's actions? You imply we are neither a democracy, nor a republic, but a helpless bastion of sheep incapable of making any change in our nation and thus deserve some form of annihilation.
We are what we are. Far as I see this is all just kids trying to be more nihilist and anti-status quo than other kids. It's the government that lets individuals interact with society as a whole, it's the government (mannnn) that is the anchor of our societal problems. We could fix it.
With the electoral college, the advent of digital voting machines, and an incredibly flawed two-party system run more on corporate sponsorship then anything, no we are not a functioning democracy, and as far as last election went, I had zero say in who's ruling this country or the direction it is headed.
PredilectionDogPoker, I agree. I just don't agree that we should /hara-kiri over it. After all, people are shitty all over the world, and only we have a system that so deceptively mimics freedom that most people erroneously believe they are free. We have the most efficient tyranny. Soft tyranny, it's called.
Were our economic and social problems under better control, foreign powers would be no threat to us. It is only when we are weak that the wolves dare to strike.
By the way, what's "another international government?" Are you talking about the UN? The Arab League?
